Project Overview

Whitmore Group engaged us to design and develop a modern website that better reflected their operations as a regional transport provider. At the time of engagement, the business operated across six depots in Victoria. The objective was to create a clean, professional online presence that could clearly communicate their services, locations, and capabilities while being easy to manage internally. Importantly, the platform needed to support future expansion, as the business anticipated growth through acquisitions. Within 12 months of launch, Whitmore Group expanded into New South Wales, adding five additional depots. The website structure allowed this to be incorporated seamlessly without requiring a rebuild.

The Core Challenge

Whitmore Group engaged us to design and develop a modern website that better reflected their operations as a regional transport provider.

The website needed to strike a balance between simplicity for users and flexibility for future growth.

Key challenges included:

    • Structuring content to support multiple depots across different states
    • Ensuring the site could scale as new locations were added
    • Presenting operational information clearly for a regional audience
    • Maintaining a simple and accessible user experience
    • Creating a foundation that could evolve with the business

Our Approach

We focused on building a structured and scalable website rather than a static brochure site.

The solution included:

    • A flexible CMS structure to manage depot locations and services
    • A clear navigation system to support multiple regions
    • Mobile-first design to ensure accessibility across devices
    • Clean, structured content to improve readability and future AI visibility

By designing the site with expansion in mind, new depots and regions could be added with minimal effort, avoiding the need for redevelopment as the business grew.

Solving the Hard Problems

Multi-Depot Content Management

Managing multiple locations can quickly become unstructured and difficult to maintain.

By creating a structured CMS system:

  • New depots can be added in minutes
  • Content remains consistent across all locations
  • Updates can be made centrally without duplication

Scalability Without Rebuilds

Many websites require redevelopment when businesses expand.

This platform was designed to grow with the business:

  • New regions can be added without changing the design
  • Navigation adapts as the structure grows
  • No redevelopment required for expansion

Balancing Simplicity with Flexibility

The system needed to remain simple for users while supporting complex business growth.

This was achieved by:

  • Keeping the interface clean and intuitive
  • Handling complexity within the CMS structure
  • Separating presentation from data

Future-Proofing the Platform

Rather than building for current needs only, the platform was designed to support:

  • Ongoing acquisitions
  • Expansion into new states
  • Additional service lines
  • Future AI and search optimisation

The Outcome

The final website provides Whitmore Group with a stable and scalable digital foundation that:

    • Clearly represents their operations across multiple depots
    • Supports ongoing business growth and acquisitions
    • Enables easy internal updates and content management
    • Delivers a consistent experience across desktop and mobile
    • Positions the business with a more professional and modern online presence

Since launch, the platform has successfully accommodated the company’s expansion into New South Wales, demonstrating its flexibility and long-term value.

Why This Project Matters

The Whitmore Group project demonstrates that even “simple” websites require strategic thinking when businesses are growing.

Rather than building a static site, the focus was on creating a scalable digital system aligned to real business operations.

This approach delivers:

  • Long-term flexibility
  • Reduced redevelopment costs
  • Clear operational visibility
  • A platform that evolves with the business

For b2b websites, this reinforces a core principle:

A website should not just represent a business — it should be built to grow with it.
